This month, Specsavers Audiology screened its one-millionth customer for hearing loss. Hundreds of thousands of Australians walk through our doors every week, looking for great value, transparent pricing, and excellent care.

And that’s what we aim to deliver.

Not because we’re in it for the business success, but because our size and scope present us with the unique opportunity to change millions of lives by challenging the system, showing people there is a better and fairer way, and delivering affordable and effective hearing care that will ensure our customers experience a better quality of life.

Our goal is to make hearing care as accessible and affordable as possible. To support our customers so they don’t have to experience the isolation and mental health issues associated with hearing loss that generations before them have experienced

So many of audiology professionals are drawn to audiology to help improve people’s lives, but the reality of having to meet a sales target or conversion KPI that compromises their ethics often kills that passion.

But we know, if we do the right thing by the customer, everything else will follow – and with over 100 partners already on board – and more than one million Australians already screened for hearing loss, we are making waves and changing lives.

Clinicians everywhere know the statistics – that only a third of the Australian population with hearing loss do something about it, that it can take 7-10 years to get a customer on the journey. And that can be 7-10 years that they suffer isolation, mental health problems, and the stigma of hearing loss.

By using hearing screening as part of the eye test journey – and making hearing care accessible to millions of people who may not have been able to access it previously – we can identify hearing loss when someone is in their 40s or 50s or 60s and dramatically increase the number of people that do something about it.
