Why I joined – Stacey Meaney

Stacey Meaney is our 33rd audiology partner, operating out of our Sunbury store, located about 40km north-west of Melbourne. Stacey has been practicing audiology since 2010 and has been with Specsavers since September 2018. She spoke to us about her experiences thus far and how the Specsavers JVP model has set her up for success.  

1. Thinking about previous roles and years in the industry as a backdrop, what prompted you to join Specsavers?

For me, the best part of being an audiologist is the clinical side of things. Specsavers was appealing to me as it allows me to continue doing what I love with additional responsibilities and autonomy. I am so proud of what I can offer my customers with fantastic value for money products and clear and transparent pricing and inclusions.

2. Why is a JVP with Specsavers a good model for audiology?

The Specsavers JVP is built on a model of support and to have the backing of an organisation like Specsavers is so reassuring.

The support team have been so helpful and really made the transition to becoming a partner as seamless as possible. On a local level, to be trading alongside an existing optical business with longstanding ties to the community and demonstrated success has allowed me to have customers coming through my door from day one. I have had unwavering support from the optometry partner and his team and it makes it a fantastic place to work.

3. Having joined, can you describe your thoughts about Specsavers Audiology and the role the group will play in the industry?

With Specsavers delivering affordable and high quality audiological services, hearing devices will be more accessible to hearing impaired individuals. I have already had customers who have been recommended hearing devices in the past but have deferred due to cost or because it felt too much like a sales pitch.

4. What is Specsavers Audiology’s approach to professionalism and clinical practice?

I cannot speak highly enough of the Professional Services team and their unwavering goal to ensure Specsavers clinicians not only meet clinical standards but exceed them. This was the biggest surprise to me when I first heard about Specsavers Audiology and the JVP model. To be able to deliver affordable, high quality hearing healthcare with the very best equipment and clinical standards is a win for hearing impaired people in the community and makes it a joy to come to work.

5. What would you say to audiology professionals considering a JVP with Specsavers?
