Alison Jackson’s mission to support clinicians

Alison Jackson is Specsavers Audiology’s Professional Services Consultant, based in our Support Office in Port Melbourne. Alison, who joined us in October 2019, is responsible for supporting partners in the delivery of high-quality hearing care. She has more than a decade’s experience in the industry and tells us what attracted her to Specsavers Audiology and what she hopes to achieve here.

1. Tell us a bit about your background. 

I have more than 10 years’ experience in both rehabilitative and diagnostic audiology and have worked in a management capacity across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. I pursued a career in audiology as I really wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives and the audiology industry provided a wonderful opportunity to fulfil this.

2. Thinking about previous roles and years in the industry as a backdrop, what prompted you to join Specsavers Audiology?

Specsavers is rapidly becoming a leader in audiology in Australia. The partners and support staff are passionate about making high quality hearing care affordable and accessible to all Australians and will be able to influence the industry and lead change. I wanted to be a part of that.

3. What is your role within the Specsavers Audiology team and how does it align with our partners?

My role as Professional Services Consultant will support clinicians in providing a high-quality audiology service to our customers.

4. Having joined, can you describe your thoughts about Specsavers Audiology and the role the group is playing in the industry?

Specsavers has a clear mission to make hearing care affordable to all Australians and has complete transparency in its pricing model – which has not been the industry norm. By improving transparency, customers can have a deeper understanding on where their money is going and make a fully informed choice about the type of provider they want to choose for their hearing care.

5. What is Specsavers Audiology’s approach to professionalism and clinical practice?

Specsavers puts a high level of thought and research into its clinical protocols and ensures that audiology partners have enough training and support to be able to deliver a high clinical service. Its wide-range of hearing aids at affordable prices shows an ongoing commitment to customers by providing a high level of choice and transparency.

6.What professional goals would you like to achieve with Specsavers Audiology / what does success look like to you?

Success for me places Specsavers as the industry leader in quality hearing care at affordable prices, making meaningful changes to the industry for the benefit of our customers. I am looking forward to visiting stores to help support the clinicians in providing the best clinical services. I am also very excited to be involved with Specsavers’ mission to continuously evaluate our clinical standards to ensure this high standard remains, as well as consistently reviewing the external audiology environment to ensure that we remain leaders in the industry.
