Understanding the Specsavers ‘JVP’ franchise model – ACAud opportunity

With the ACAud National Congress due to commence in Adelaide on Thursday 23rd August at the impressive Adelaide Convention Centre, many audiologists and audiometrists have made requests for information on the Specsavers ‘Joint Venture Partnership’ franchise model – and just how it works for qualified professionals seeking a turn-key solution to opening their own audiology business.

The good news is that the broader Specsavers Audiology support team will be present at the ACAud National Congress – on Stand 12 – answering questions and providing more detail on exactly how the JVP franchise works and how it has been tried and tested across more than 900 Specsavers Audiology businesses in Europe.

Head of Retail Mike Protopsaltis noted that, as in the optical launch in 2008, professionals have questions specifically linked to how the JVP model works. “The great thing is that over the past few months i have received every question imaginable on how the JVP franchise model works and why we believe it is such an attractive option – I’m ready to answer literally all questions at the National Congress.”

Perhaps the number one question has related to the ‘market-rate salary and super package’ referred to in much of the Specsavers Audiology material. Mike explained: ‘that’s right, every Specsavers partner in audiology or in optics is paid a market-rate salary in their new business, guaranteed by Specsavers Pty Ltd, from day one and for the life of their franchise agreement. That’s because we know the importance of continuing to have a significant income when you open your business – we want to make sure every partner is focussed on building their business and looking after their clients, not worrying about money.’

Mike will be joined on the Specsavers stand at ACAud by General Manager Darrel Magna, as well as by Professional Services Manager (and audiologist) Nick Taylor and a number of other members of the Specsavers Audiology Support Team.
