Divya Mukundan is passionate about bringing a positive change into people’s lives

Divya Mukundan of our Coffs Harbour store is passionate about improving the lives of those in her community.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Speech & Hearing and her Master’s in Audiology, she is dedicated to improving the mental, emotional and physical health of her customers so that their quality of life improves.

Her desire to become an audiology professional began early in life.

Living in the vicinity of a Speech and Hearing Institute, she would see a lot of children with hearing disabilities attend rehabilitation programmes, and witness these children transform from being withdrawn, reserved and almost taciturn to cheerful, expressive, uninhibited, and confident children. These profound experiences were her inspiration for pursuing a career in Audiology, to ultimately brighten and bring a positive change in people’s lives.

“It is a deeply satisfying experience to help people experience and live life to the fullest, to enrich their lives in a myriad of ways, broaden their horizons and raise their aspirations. That’s what is meaningful to me!” she says.

Divya understands the multiple ways hearing loss affects people. She has seen it significantly diminish a person’s quality of life, lead to impaired communication, social isolation and withdrawal and psychological stress and overall frustration.

Consequently, she is tremendously proud to have the opportunity to give people the confidence to be right in the middle of all the activity and spend quality time with family and friends.

“Hearing aids aren’t just about hearing. By improving mental, emotional, and physical health, hearing aids improve a person’s quality of life and result in improved social, emotional, psychological and overall well being,” she says.
